The Volunteer Exchange will meet Wednesday, November 2 at 10:30 am in the Fireside Room at Gateway.
Shoshana Kobrin, MA, LMFT, pioneered a multiracial communications program in apartheid South Africa. Currently a Rossmoor resident, Shoshana is a writer, psychotherapist, hipnotherapist, Reiki practioner and Reiki master teacher who facilitates workshops and retreats professionally and in the community.
Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japan. The word comes from the Japanese word Rei or Universal Life and Ki which means Energy. It is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. Its subtle and effective form of life energy work that flows through all living things.
The author of self-help books include subjects on writing, eating disorders, addictions and personal growth. Her latest book entitled Roots and Wings: Growing Up in Apartheid South Africa will be the topic for her presentation at the VEP meeting , November 2nd, at 10:30 A.M. in the Fireside Room, Gateway Clubhouse. Her books will be for sale.

The Volunteer Program exists to help Rossmoor residents help each other. Members provide services for other members and ear credits for doing so. In turn, they can use their earned credits to obtain services from other members. Membership dues are $15 annually. There are no additional charges except for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses such as gasoline and parking. It is not an emergency service and is not available to non-members.
