Guidelines
DO
1. When accepting an assignment, write down the name, place, date, and period of time that the assignment is expected to last.
2. Be on time. 5-10 minutes early is even better.
3. Know the service recipient’s name, and be sure he or she knows yours.
4. Wear practical clothing.
5. Follow all directions regarding the assignment explicitly.
DON’T
1. Don’t give medication or advice on any health related issue.
2. Don’t lift, toilet, or bathe the care recipient or lift or assist with heavy equipment. Don’t do anything you are not comfortable doing. Remember, if you do so, you are fully liable.
3. Don’t provide any financial advice or help with check writing.
4. Don’t cancel at the last minute.
