Rossmoor Volunteer Exchange

Mission Statement
The Rossmoor Volunteer Exchange provides a variety of short-term services to its members.  This program is not an emergency service.

What is Volunteer Exchange?
The Volunteer Exchange is based on a nation-wide program designed to allow  members to trade a variety of short-term services. Only members of the Rossmoor Volunteer   Exchange can utilize the program.

It is not an emergency or last minute service.

How does the Volunteer Exchange Work?
Members earn personal credits by helping those who require their services. These credits are recorded in each member’s account and he/she can use them as he/she wishes: Options include requesting  available services; earning credits for future use or need; or donating them to other members.

What types of services does the Volunteer Exchange provides?

Local Driving
  • To the doctor, beauty salon, dentist, etc.
  • To Rossmoor activities
  • To Concord, Lafayette, Danville
  • To Oakland airport, and 
  • To Medical appointments

Grocery shopping and errands
Reading to the vision impaired
Telephone tree
Pet sitting and dog walking
Plant watering
Gardening
Friendly visits
Sewing and mending

  And many more…!

Are there any costs involved?

A $15 annual membership fee covers insurance, events, and incidental office supplies and  expenses.
Services provided are only available from other members. All efforts are made to fill reasonable requests but availability cannot be guaranteed.

Who is eligible for the services which are offered?

Rossmoor members of the Exchange can request services just as they may offer their services to other members.

Contact the Volunteer Exchange at (925) 906-9882. Each prospective participant must meet with a Board member for a short interview to sign up for the program.
