Volunteer Exchange Program learns about happiness.
"Happiness, If Not Now, When?" will be the topic presented by Bob Nozik, Professor Emeritus at the University of California Medical
Center in San Francisco to the next general Volunteer Exchange Program meeting November 4 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room, Gateway.
Refreshments will be served.
Bob Nozik is a physician who has studied happiness ever since discovering his own deep, inner happiness more than two decades ago.
In addition to treating patients, much of his medical career involved performing research and teaching other physicians. He has authored
four medical textbooks and one hundred journal articles in his thirty eight years at the University.
More recently, he is co-founder of the American Happiness Association, a non-profit organization that promotes and advances happiness. He leads the Positive Forum at the Lafayette Senior Center, a happiness club in Castro Valley and The Happiness Club in Rossmoor. He suggest how seniors have a real advantage for developing ideal happiness.
His book, “Happiness 4 Life: Here's How To Do It” will be available at this meeting as well as his poetry book, “Happy Tymes Rhymes: Just For The Fun Of It”.
The White Pony Express featured at the September meeting has received a grant of $20,000.00 from The San Francisco Foundation to further its work in Contra Costa County providing food and clothing to local Charities.
The Volunteer Exchange Program is Rossmoor residents helping each other. It provides a variety of short term services to its members.
It is not an emergency service.
