A Successful Story of Ukraine Support, Wednesday, March. 1, 2023
Carolyn Hinrichs and Patti Holland, two Rossmoor residents, will give a presentation about their efforts collecting donations for Mission of Mercy Ukraine, a charitable organization helping victims of the war in Ukraine on March 1. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room at Gateway.
Carolyn Hinrichs got involved with the charity at the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war by collecting surgical/medical supplies, food, personal items, and financial contributions from the Rossmoor community. She was soon joined by Patti Holland and other Rossmoor clubs.
They will talk about the stages of development and collaboration among the different clubs at Rossmoor in support of Ukraine. Because of their generous donations, the charity was able to ship over $35,000 worth of goods donated from our community to Ukraine which have been used in support of adult special needs centers, schools, orphanages, and hospitals. They will take us on a photo tour of the impact the efforts have had on people's lives to date.

The men and women of the Volunteer Exchange perform services for each other, such as transportation and pet care. In this way, they earn credit hours, which they can use in the future to “pay” other members for services. New members able to provide services are always welcome. Services are not available to non-members.
Detailed information about the club can be found on the club’s web page at https://rossmoorvep.weebly.com/, or be accessed via a link in the “Clubs” section on the www.rossmoor.com web page. For further information, please call 925-906-9882.
As always, non-members are welcome to attend club meetings.
