THistorian Shares Research Results with Volunteer Exchange, Wednesday, April 1
Margarete Neal De Graca, amateur historian, will give a presentation about Stanley Dollar to the Volunteer Exchange on April 1. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room at Gateway.
De Graca, who grew up in England, developed a curiosity about history at a young age. Her father was in the British Civil Service. This gave her lots of opportunities to travel and to learn about places that were British Colonies at the time.
When De Graca and her husband moved to Rossmoor 10 years ago, she immediately began to wonder about the man named Stanley Dollar that her street was named after. Naturally, she went to the library and began to research it. She was amazed by what she learned.
As always, non-members are welcome to attend club meetings.

The men and women of the Volunteer Exchange perform services for each other such as transportation and pet care. In this way, they earn credit hours which they can use in the future to “pay” other members for services. New members able to provide services are always welcome. Services are not available to non-members.
Detailed information about the club can be found on the club’s web page. The web page can be easily accessed via a link in the “Clubs” section on the www.rossmoor.com web page.
For more information, residents are invited to attend one of the monthly meetings or call 906-9882.
