The Contra Costa Crisis Center, Wednesday 10:30 A.M., April 3, 2019
The Volunteer Exchange will meet on Wednesday, April 3 to hear a presentation by the Contra Costa Crisis Center. The meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room at Gateway.
The mission of the Crisis Center is to keep people alive and safe, help them through crises, and provide or connect them with culturally relevant resources in the community.
They provide a grief counseling program as well as a 24-hour crisis and suicide hotline. They also provide a 24-hour information and referral line.
The Leftovers Thrift Shop, located near Rossmoor at Olympic and Tice Valley Blvd, is familiar to many Rossmoor residents. It supports the mission of the Crisis Center and is run entirely by volunteers. Many of the volunteers live in Rossmoor.

The men and women of the Volunteer Exchange perform services for each other such as transportation and pet care. In this way, they earn credit hours which they can use in the future to “pay” other members for services. New members able to provide services are always welcome. Services are not available to non-members.
