History of Land Conservation in the East Bay, Wednesday 10:30 A.M., May 1, 2019
The Volunteer Exchange will meet on Wednesday, May 1 to hear a presentation by Linus Eukel, Executive Director of John Muir Land Trust (JMLT). The meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room at Gateway.
JMLT is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year. Linus will talk about the history of land conservation in the East Bay, and what we can do to shape the landscape we leave to future generations.
A healthy park system offers diverse opportunities for outdoor recreation as well as valuable watershed and wildlife habitat. In 2016, JMLT successfully raised funds to protect the 604-acre Carr Ranch near Rossmoor. They are currently working on projects in nearby Moraga and Lafayette.
**********************************************************************************
The men and women of the Volunteer Exchange perform services for each other such as transportation and pet care. In this way, they earn credit hours which they can use in the future to “pay” other members for services. New members able to provide services are always welcome. Services are not available to non-members.
Detailed information about the club can be found on the club’s web page. The web page can be easily accessed via a link in the “Clubs” section on the www.rossmoor.com web page.
For more information, residents are invited to attend one of the monthly meetings or call 906-9882.
