A Talk on Kidney Disease and Transplant, Wednesday 10:30 A.M., Sept 4, 2019
The Volunteer Exchange will meet on Wednesday, Sept 4 to hear Rossmoor resident Joan Grealis speak about her successful battle with kidney disease. The meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room at Gateway.
At age 59, Joan contracted a virus that eventually resulted in end stage kidney disease. She moved from New Jersey to Rossmoor to be near her daughter and began the long wait for a kidney transplant. She will discuss her disease and her experiences with the medical/transplant programs that eventually saved her life.
Joan was 65 when she finally had transplant surgery. She is now fully recovered and has been able to resume an active lifestyle.

The men and women of the Volunteer Exchange perform services for each other such as transportation and pet care. In this way, they earn credit hours which they can use in the future to “pay” other members for services. New members able to provide services are always welcome. Services are not available to non-members.
Detailed information about the club can be found on the club’s web page. The web page can be easily accessed via a link in the “Clubs” section on the www.rossmoor.com web page.
For more information, residents are invited to attend one of the monthly meetings or call 906-9882.
