CASA Volunteers are Needed in Contra Costa County, Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023
The Volunteer Exchange Program will invite Sarah Bradford, Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) to give a talk on Wednesday, Sept. 6. The presentation will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room at Gateway.
CASA of Contra Costa County is a non-profit organization that recruits and trains volunteers to support local young people in foster care. Ms. Bradford will talk about how their programs tutor foster youth, represent them in court, and make sure that they receive the medical and psychological care that they need. According to their website, 31% of children and youth in America have a CASA volunteer to advocate for them. There are dozens of local children currently waiting for volunteer help.
**********************
As always, non-members are welcome to attend club meetings.
The men and women of the Volunteer Exchange perform services for each other such as transportation and pet care. In this way, they earn credit hours, which they can use in the future to “pay” other members for services. New members able to provide services are always welcome. Services are not available to non-members.
Detailed information about the club can be found on the club’s web page. The web page can be easily accessed via a link in the “Clubs” section on the www.rossmoor.com web page.
For more information, residents are invited to attend one of the monthly meetings or to call 1-925-906-9882.
